We find ourselves in an interesting time and it is my hope that this message finds you healthy and well.

Manitoba schools remain open until the end of the week and will then close from March 23 – April 10 to help “flatten the curve” and prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 14.

Our teachers have been busy preparing lessons, assignments, projects and content review for students to engage in while at home. It is important for learning to continue during this time away from school and students are encouraged to check in with their teachers daily through Google classroom or other online communication platforms that have been set up for “learning at home”. We do not intend for this to be a stressful undertaking for students or parents but we want to stay connected to our students and create some daily routines that will provide some assurance and stability. First and foremost, take care of your family to ensure they stay healthy and safe.

As this situation evolves, Hanover School Division remains a good source of information as they continue to update their website and provide email correspondence as needed. You are also welcome to call or email the school with any questions that you may have.

Spring Break may look a little different this year, as many plans have shifted and changed, but hopefully our spirits can remain high over the next few weeks and we will find fun and joy in new ways.

All the best,

Kimberley Funk
