I hope that you and your family are managing to stay healthy and well. With spring break behind us, we are now in the final stretch of the school year – it’s hard to believe that there are only 11 weeks left!

Here are a few things happening at NHS in the coming weeks.

Extra-Curricular Activities

There has been a soft return to a few extra-curricular sports and clubs and we are happy to be able to offer a few activities for students to participate in. We will continue to keep a close eye on safety protocols and follow all provincial health guidelines.

Report Cards

Term 3 report cards will be issued on Friday, April 23 and can be accessed on the HSD Parent Portal.

Parent Teacher Conferences

This event will take place on Wednesday, April 28 from 4:00-7:00. You will be able to meet with teachers via Zoom or a phone call. More information on how to make an appointment will be coming next week.

Planning for Next Year

Grade 9 orientation started last week and will continue this week. It is really great to meet our future students and welcome them to our school.

Course registration for next year will take place in early May and specific course information and registration details will be sent at that time.

Covid Updates

As noted in last month’s superintendent correspondence, Public Health has provided updated guidance on close contacts and self-isolation requirements, and COVID-19 variants of concern. Please see the attached bulletin for specific details.

To assist parents and caregivers in understanding the new protocols, HSD has created a one-page chart When Can Students Attend School. This document is also attached.

Once again, a huge thank you to all NHS families for their continued support during this unprecedented time. I am very grateful for the patience and grace that you have shown over the course of the year. We have made it this far and will continue to work hard to finish the year strong.

Take care,
