Someone told me today that there are 55 days until Christmas. Yikes! I’m not quite sure what to do with that information but I think I’ll just take it one day at a time. I hope this email finds you well and that your own days are manageable.

Here are a few things to be aware of in November:

Spectators at School Sporting Events

Effective today, November 1, HSD is permitting limited spectator access for varsity volleyball games with the following conditions:

  • For each student-athlete, two spectators (fully vaccinated) are permitted to attend.
  • Spectators must provide proof of vaccination and a corresponding piece of Photo ID when they arrive at the school.
  • Masks must be worn at all times while in the school.

NHS will continue to livestream all home games and spectator access will again be reviewed by HSD at the end of November.

Take Your Kid to Work 2021

Typically in November, grade 9 students have shadowed a parent in their workplace but that is not happening this year. Students will have an opportunity to participate in some virtual TYKTW presentations at school with their classmates and teacher but there are regular classes on November 3. There will also be a Safe Workers of Tomorrow presentation later this month and follow-up career activities in the Wednesday Life Group meetings.

Picture Retakes – November 2 (AM only)

Please contact the school office if you would like retakes for your child or if they missed picture day in September.

Report Cards & Parent-Teacher Conferences

Report Cards – November 22

Parent-Teacher Conferences – November 25, 4:00-7:00.

Conferences will happen virtually again this year and more information on making a Zoom or phone call appointment will be sent out later in the month.

No School

November 11 – Remembrance Day

November 12 – Senior Years (SY) Administration Day

November 29 – SY Teachers PD Day

As always, please contact our office or me, directly, if you have any questions and we will be happy to assist you. I appreciate your calls and emails, even when we have to deal with the tough stuff.

Take care,
