It’s hard to believe I’m writing my last principal’s message for the school year. Two short weeks left of classes – unbelievable.

The last couple of weeks included a band concert, an art show, and a school dance. It has felt so good to have those aspects of school life back. Our school spirit has really seemed to have lifted. I hope you enjoyed these showcase of learning events if you were able to attend.

These final two weeks matter! I encourage students to finish strong – attend your classes, give the learning and final assessment your full attention, and talk to your teachers about your progress if you have any questions.

June also marks the last month at NHS for a few of our teachers. We bid farewell and extend best wishes to Brett Schmall, Jennifer Harris, Travis Hutlet, Jessica Neuendorff, Melissa Onizak and Nic Reimer. We are appreciative of their contributions to NHS and wish them well in their future endeavors.

As we wrap things up here are a few upcoming dates to be aware of:

June 13 – Admin Day (no school)

June 17 – Last Day of Classes for Grade 12

June 21 – Last Day of Classes for Grades 9-11

June 22-24 – Students attend by INVITE ONLY

June 24 – Grad Rehearsal (11:00 AM)

June 27 – GRAD – 4:00 PM at NHS

June 29 – Final Report Cards Issued

August 24 – NHS Office Opens for New School Year

September 7 – First Day of School for GRADE NINE ONLY

September 8 – First Day of School for grades 10-12 (all grade 9-12 students attend)

Thank you to the NHS families for your caring commitment and continued support throughout the year. As we reflect and celebrate the accomplishments that took place this year, it is remarkable to see the resiliency and strength that our students, staff and families have exhibited. This is certainly a school and community to be proud of.

I wish you all an enjoyable summer and look forward to seeing our new and returning students and families in the fall.
