With the arrival of February and some milder temperatures, I would like to wish our students and teachers all the best as we kick off semester two and enter into the second half of the school year. This is the final semester of high school for our grade 12’s and the conversations about grad are becoming more frequent. Last week, our grade 12 art students hosted a very successful art show, and it was wonderful to see their four years of learning culminate in this way. I encourage all our graduating students to embrace these last five months of learning and growing together at NHS.

Here are a few things to take note of this month . . .

Report Cards – Feb 10

Report cards will be issued on Friday, Feb 10 and will be available through the parent portal. Please feel free to reach out to teachers if you have any questions or wish to discuss your student’s progress in more detail. Teacher email addresses are available on the school website.

Pancake Breakfast – Feb 21

Our Student Leadership Team will be hosting a school-wide pancake breakfast on Tuesday, Feb 21. We are still looking for a few parent volunteers to help out that morning, as well as a few more griddles. Please contact the school or the PAC at nhsparentcouncil@gmail.com if you are able to provide your time or a griddle.

Grade 10 Reality Check Event – Feb 22

Reality Check is a budgeting simulation for grade 10 students. It is a chance to practice budgeting and experience its various aspects in a no-risk environment. NHS will be hosting this event for our own students, along with grade 10 students from Landmark and Grunthal. The event will be held during the regular school day.

Coffee House Fundraiser – Feb 28

The parent grad committee is hosting this grad fundraiser on Tuesday, Feb 28 from 7:00-9:00 at NHS. If you are interested in attending, please see the attachment for event and ticket details.
