“The more grateful we are, the more beauty we see” – Mary Davis

The holiday season is a time for gratitude. Even though it may not seem like it to everyone, there is much to be grateful for. This is certainly the case here at Niverville High School as we wrap up the 2024 Calendar Year.

We are grateful for the continued support we receive from all our families and in the community. It has been so wonderful to once again visit and touch base with many of you as we continue to do what is best for our students.

Thank you to our Parent Advisory Council for the numerous events you have been involved in, be at the Grade 9 Learning Evening or launching our recent fundraiser, A Baker’s Story. Being able to host parents and caregivers at our recent Parent Teacher Conferences and being able to open our doors to everyone for our Christmas Concert on December 12, there is just so much outside support that makes this a truly special school community.

As with all our families, this time of year is also very busy.

  • We have the Christmas Concert on December 12
  • December 19 – Winter Solstice at NHS

A special shout out to our volleyball teams and their coaches, many of whom are community volunteers! Congratulations to our Varsity Boys team who were Zone 13 Champions and represented us at the AAA Provincials! A last shout out as well to our NHS Rocket League teams, who finished 1st in the AA division and 2nd in the A division at the provincial championships this weekend

Things to take note of:

  • Report Cards were issued on November 18th and our records show that 91.2% have been viewed. If you are having any issues with the parent portal, please contact Mrs. Koop in the office and she will assist you. If you would like to discuss your student’s progress in any of their classes, please contact the teacher via email to set up an appointment or phone call.
  • Christmas Concert – Thursday, December 12, 7:00 PM in the NHS gym. All our musical groups will be performing, and everyone is welcome to join us.
  • Community Christmas – The Student Leadership Team is leading 12 Days of Giving (for Helping Hands) from November 25th to December 10th, collecting different items each day. Please visit our website or Instagram page for specific details or simply donate what you can! The Student Leadership Team thanks you in advance for your contributions!
  • Last day of classes before Christmas break is Friday, December 20.

There is so much beauty in seeing our students grow over the last couple months and we are truly grateful for all of you. We want to take this time to wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy Holidays and a safe, warm, and relaxing Christmas Break!

All the best in 2025, from our NHS family to yours!
